Maid of Honor Speech
I've been working on my maid of honor speech for my friend's wedding this weekend and it really isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I've been told by everyone that I shouldn't worry about being funny- that's the best man's job. As long as I do "sentimental" well, I'll be fine. And if you really think about it, at the end of the day, no one cares if you do well. They just don't want you to do badly.
Here are some of the more fantastic speeches that I've come across (brava to these ladies!):

DIY Headboard
This past spring, we gave our bedroom a makeover and got stuck on finding the perfect headboard. A bit of an odd thing to get hung up on. But after coming across Joanna Goddard's bedroom makeover post on her site, we knew exactly what we wanted. The DIY tufted headboard tutorial on Little Green Notebook was pretty easy to do and, as you can see in the photo, the end result turned out great; people ask us all the time where we got our headboard from.
If a tufted headboard isn't really your style, here are a handful of other DIY tutorials that are on my list to try next.
Love the look of a rustic wooden headboard.
Create a fantastic wallpaper illusion with a headboard wall.
Love this Pottery Barn & West Elm-inspired rope headboard.

DIY Wedding Schedule
My dearest of friends' wedding is vastly approaching and she really liked the idea of having a timeline wedding schedule card for her guests to have on the day of. Etsy has a lot of great ones but between her preference of layout, icons, and color palette, she couldn't quite find the perfect one for her. So in the interest of time (and minimal stress), I whipped one up myself which we can print on nicer stock. She gets the timeline wedding schedule card that she wants for practically free- problem solved!
If you're looking to play around and create something similar, I'm an Adobe CS loyalist but Pixelmator is a great (and affordable!) Photoshop alternative for Macs.

Hello World.
I'm finding that the best things come in small, well-designed letterpress packages.
